The only Organic sheep cheesery in Australia!
Grandvewe cheeses is a family owned and run Organic sheep cheesery in Tasmania. We manufacture Sheep and Goat products such as Cheese, Yoghurt, Icecream and whey Liquers.
Soon after moving from our high stress work environments of Queensland we sought refuge in Tasmania. We found a beautiful property in Woodbridge, 30min south of Hobart. After throwing ideas around as to which animal could graze the 40 acres of grass that was rapidly becoming overgrown, dairy sheep were considered to be the best option. Europeans have been milking sheep for centuries and for good reason. Sheep milk is very creamy and sweet. Having decided to milk sheep Diane (Mum) attended Melbourne University to extend her knowledge of cheese making. Since then we have won numerous awards and frequently travel to Europe to perfect our skills and knowledge. We milk 120 East Friesland ewes from lambing time in September until the following April. Each ewe gives an average of 1-2 litres of milk daily. We make over 13 different types of sheep cheese and hope you enjoy every one of them.
All of our sheep milk products are:
- Certified Organic (certified with OGA)
- Reduces Cholesterol (contains medium-chain Triglyceride)
- Dairy Intolerant Friendly (98% of Dairy Intollorant people can have sheep milk)
- Healthy Fats (High levels of Mono and Polyunsaturated fats)
- High Calcium (Twice the calcium of cows milk)
