Beetroot Relish
Our first preserve release and first award winner too!
Near River Beetroot Relish is made from tender young beetroot bulbs that provide fantastic colour and the right texture to offer a truly versatile relish with a slight hint of chilli giving a zing in the finish.
Some of the many uses include being served with goats cheese as a canapé; with ham and other cold cuts on sandwiches; as a accompaniment with gamey meat, particularly duck, rabbit or kangaroo; and lastly, for a real treat, serve it on Wagyu burgers topped with blue cheese - a gourmet take on the classic Aussie hamburger where beetroot is a must.

Mandarin Marmalade
The fruit comes from our own Emperor trees providing the fantastic colour for this traditional marmalade with a classic sweet taste.
With just the right amount of rind giving a slightly sour finish, its best used with butter smothered on toast or crumpets, or as a different take on scones with cream!
Also makes a great glaze on ham.
Rhubarb, Lime & Ginger Compote
Featuring our own Near River rhubarb and ginger, this preserve has a great finish, with both the lime and ginger giving the sweetness an added zing. And the ginger is only a hint - for us ginger lovers it could do with some more!
A wonderfully deep colour with fantastic texture and consistency add to the flexibility of this creation.
Use at breakfast as a topping with muesli or stirred through yoghurt; at lunch add a dollop to banana bread and honey yoghurt; use with chocolate cake and mascarpone; and then as a dessert (or anytime) serve with your favourite ice cream.
Simply delicious.

Rhubarb Paste
Our second release featuring the deep red stalks from the rhubarb plants at Near River.
This is an exquisitely textured spread that is similar to quince paste in its uses. While it has sweet overtones, the finish can occur as restrained, allowing the favour of the accompanying food to shine through.
Partners well with both soft and firm cheeses, the deep crimson colour sits well on the plate. Also works very well when used in dessert dishes like panna cotta.
